Summer signing Sam Parkin says he is aiming to open his home goals account and finish the season as the club's top scorer. Parkin has netted twice away from home for the Blues, at QPR and Millwall, but is yet to score at Portman Road.

Central defender Jason De Vos is back in the Town squad for Saturday's trip to table-topping Sheffield United. The Canadian is likely to return to the side after cracking ribs in the opening day of the season home victory over Cardiff City.

Boss Joe Royle says he is considering looking for a loan player to cover for Ian Westlake while the midfielder is out injured with ankle ligament damage. Westlake turned the ankle in training on Tuesday and faces around six weeks on the sidelines.

Chief executive Derek Bowden says Richard Naylor's surprise non-appearance against Preston North End on Monday was a result of the Blues being unable to gain confirmation that a player whose red card was being appealed was eligible to play. Naylor was harshly sent off against Millwall on Saturday and Town were keen for his dismissal to be overturned.

Awful Town fell to a crushing 4-0 home defeat to Preston North End. The Blues rarely looked like getting back into the game after two goals from Lilywhites' striker David Nugent put the visitors ahead just after the half hour, David Jones and Patrick Agyemang completing the scoring.
